Nathan is a shareholder of the firm. His practice focuses on tax-exempt financing for local government entities and private 501(c)(3) organizations. Nathan is listed as “Nationally Recognized Bond Counsel” in the Bond Buyer’s Directory of Municipal Bond Attorneys.  Nathan regularly serves as Bond Counsel, Issuer’s Counsel, Underwriter/Disclosure Counsel, and Borrower’s Counsel on tax-exempt financings in Montana. Nathan is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers and provides training seminars on tax-exempt finance in Montana to lenders and other parties involved in tax-exempt projects in Montana See, e.g. MONTANA PUBLIC BOND LAW 101.

Nathan’s innovative work as bond counsel has been recognized by the Bond Buyer, the nationwide industry-leading publication for public finance. The Bond Buyer awarded its 2022 Small Issuer Financing Deal of the Year Award to Gallatin County, Montana's $65 million Bozeman Fiber project, on which Nathan served as bond counsel. Nathan was also engaged by the Montana Facility Finance Authority to build the legal framework for Montana’s Commercial Property Assessed Capital Enhancements Program and now issues Validity Opinions to lenders and bond purchasers on C-PACE loans and bonds.
